\n\u2022 2 General Registrant Midwives (permanent position)
\n\u2022 or New Registrant with the possibility of a permanent position
\nOrigins Midwifery is an established practice situated in Okotoks, Alberta. We serve a diverse
\ncommunity of urban and rural clients at the South end of Calgary, Okotoks, High River, and the
\nFoothills Municipal district.
\nOur practice has an out-of-hospital birth rate of close to 50%. We have hospital privileges rurally
\nat High River Hospitals and privileges in all three urban hospitals in Calgary.
\nWe provide compassionate client-centered care and respect our client’s uniqueness, providing
\nindividualized care for all we serve. We are looking for a compassionate, resilient, professional
\nmidwife who works hard and loves rural scenery. Our practice is small and intimate. We pride
\nourselves on informed choice, continuity of care, choice of birthplace and evidence-based
\npractice to our clients and would love for you to join our team.
\nInterested applicants
\n\u2022 General Registrant Practice Permit from the College of Midwives of Alberta (current, or
\neligible to obtain)
\n\u2022 Registered with the Alberta Association of Midwives.
\n\u2022 Have current CPR, NRP, and Emergency Skills Certification.
\n\u2022 MOREOb or ALARM desirable.
\n\u2022 Have a keen interest in rural maternity care.
\n\u2022 Work well in within a small team
\n\u2022 Commitment to client-centered, inclusive midwifery care
\n\u2022 Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to work collaboratively with other health
\nprofessions as part of a multidisciplinary team
\nOkotoks is known for its « Big Rock, » the largest glacial erratic in the Foothills Erratic Train,
\nsituated about 7 km west of the town. Magnificent Rocky Mountain views, bountiful rolling
\nhills, and the splendid Sheep River Valley surround Okotoks’ town. It is close to Calgary and a
\ncouple of hours hour from Banff National Park, Kananaskis Provincial Park, Dinosaur Provincial
\nPark, and numerous ski hills and cross-country trails.
