Community Midwife \u2013 Permanent Full-Time<\/p>\n
Position Summary:
\nReporting to the Midwifery Team Lead, the Community midwife works within the Women\u2019s Health Centre, and
\nlow risk birth center as part of an interdisciplinary, collaborative health care team to deliver a comprehensive
\nprimary maternity care program for the catchment area of the All Nations\u2019 Healing Hospital including the town
\nof Fort Qu\u2019Appelle, surrounding rural municipalities and First Nations Communities. The midwife is a primary
\ncare provider requiring the appropriate knowledge, skills and competencies to provide full course of care to
\nwomen and their babies from conception, through pregnancy, labor, birth and the postpartum period. The
\nmidwife adheres to the philosophy of midwifery care in practice. The midwife must be able to work flexible
\nhours to meet client care needs.<\/p>\n
Qualifications:
\n\u2022 Current active practicing registration or eligible for licensure with the College of Midwives of
\nSaskatchewan
\n\u2022 Graduate of an educational program approved by the Saskatchewan College of Midwives.
\n\u2022 Current certification in CPR, and NRP
\n\u2022 Excellent written and oral communication skills (English)
\n\u2022 Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers License<\/p>\n
Experience:
\n\u2022 Previous experience working as a member of an interdisciplinary team
\n\u2022 Expertise working with women experiencing numerous challenges or considered at risk
\n\u2022 Current midwifery experience an asset<\/p>\n
Other:
\n\u2022 Must be eligible for liability insurance coverage (purchased by employer).
\n\u2022 Must provide a recent criminal record check.
\n\u2022 Must provide recent child abuse registry check.
\n\u2022 Knowledge of First Nations culture and traditions an asset<\/p>\n
