\nSeeking a long-term partner to join our team – 0.5-1.0 FTE (negotiable)
\nTerra Nova Midwifery in Richmond BC is seeking applications for a new member to join our growing
\nteam for June 2022 (or earlier ).
\nWe are currently a team of 3 people working a 2.5 FTE caseload. We are growing to meet the exploding
\ndemand for midwives in the Richmond and South Delta (Ladner, Tsawwassen) areas and referrals from
\nlocal physicians.
\nOur hospital privileges are at Richmond Hospital (Vancouver Coastal Health) and we do around 30% of
\nour births at home each month. Our clinic is located in the charming Steveston Village area of Richmond,
\nwith access to sunny walks on the pier, great restaurants, and a small-town vibe. Our two MOA\u2019s are
\nboth efficient, friendly and very knowledgeable birth workers who provide amazing administrative
\nsupport.
\nWe care for a diverse population of lovely families in the area and have a full roster of clients each
\nmonth (plus a substantial waitlist), with both primips and multips, lots of repeat clients and many word
\nof mouth referrals. We have been nurturing relationships with birthing families in the Tsawwassen First
\nNation and have enjoyed being a part of bringing home birth back to their traditional ancestral land.
\nWe enjoy excellent collegial relationships with our consultant OB\/Gyn\u2019s and pediatricians and work well
\nas a team in our hospital Birth Centre. We have highly-cooperative professional relationships with the
\nRN\u2019s at our hospital, who provide 1:1 nursing care. Our hospital is lauded for its low caesarean birth
\nrate\/dedication to normal birth and is a very pro-midwifery working environment.
\nApplicants should be eligible for registration in BC and in good standing with the BCCNM. You should be
\nsomeone who has integrity, a good work ethic, is a caring team mate and is interested in building a
\nburn-out proof\/sustainable practice.
