About the opportunity<\/p>\n
At Southern DHB, we\u2019re looking for motivated, passionate midwives who are ready to make an exciting leap.<\/p>\n
You\u2019ll be pleased to find we do things a little differently down here. As you well know, midwifery is a hugely essential role in women\u2019s healthcare, and the NZ system is built with that in mind. That\u2019s why you\u2019ll have the freedom and autonomy to work in a setting that suits your preferred style of care \u2013 either at a primary maternity unit, or a secondary or tertiary unit within a hospital, where the levels of care required are more complex and continuous. Whatever setting you choose, you\u2019ll provide valuable prenatal, delivery and postnatal care \u2013 helping women at each stage of their journey.<\/p>\n
Each year we birth around 1,800 babies and work closely with the midwifery and medical schools to give the kind of care our patients deserve.<\/p>\n

About the role<\/p>\n
Within the Core Midwifery environment no two days will be the same and you\u2019ll be involved in the full scope of midwifery practice during your time here. We have a women-centered approach to our care and you will be making a real difference to the patient experience. This core midwife role would suit a Midwife who is team-focused and who enjoys getting involved in a variety of tasks to ensure the very best care is provided at all times.<\/p>\n
