Family Health Clinic was founded originally in 1983 as a Naturopathic clinic, and added midwives in 1998.\u00a0 The clinic is situated in central Langley, in the Fraser Valley, a fast growing area with many young families.\u00a0 The Fraser Valley is still quite rural with a variety of organic farms, wineries and markets, opportunities for horseback riding, hiking, canoeing, paddle boarding, close to camping, skiing and more!\u00a0Langley is only 45 minutes from downtown Vancouver, for the\u00a0perfect balance of city and country.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Family Health Midwives work in a\u00a0small team model, with a shared caseload of \u00a04 EDD\u2019s per midwife. Our team is committed to maintaining a satisfying work\/life balance, working\u00a01 day of clinic and 2-3 days of call each week. \u00a0\u00a0The midwives enjoy 24hr-48 hr \u00a0call shifts\u00a0\u00a0and 6 weeks of vacation\/year is encouraged.\u00a0 Our team uses Juno\/Oscar and\u00a0 electronic faxing, and is well supported by an MOA 5 days\/week (and She\u2019s awesome).\u00a0 Working within a Naturopathic environment offers an opportunity to learn about naturopathic medicine and pregnancy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The successful candidate will initially be eligible for\u00a0locum privileges through the Fraser Health Authority\u00a0\u00a0and there is a potential for full privileges.\u00a0 Our primary site is Langley Memorial Hospital. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The midwives enjoy many repeat clients and a home birth rate of 20%.\u00a0 The midwives work closely and collaboratively with a small group of local specialists, and feel very fortunate to have such a positive and supportive work environment in their local hospital!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

We are a very supportive team who communicate well and value respect and teamwork. We are generally very flexible around scheduling and believe strongly in not tolerating bullying within healthcare.\u00a0 We have an excellent and fair system for allocation of pay based on a points system.\u00a0 All of the team are practitioners with many years of experience and would be happy to support a new graduate or a bridging graduate. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
