There is a strong emphasis on disease prevention, health promotion and education and community partnerships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0A General Registrant in good standing with the College of Midwives of Ontario and QAP up to date.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Member of the Association of Ontario Midwives<\/li>\n<li>Up to date NRP, FHS, CPR, and Emergency skills certification.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 5 years\u2019 experience working as a midwife.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience not only in the provision of low-risk, but also complex prenatal, \u00a0<br \/>\u00a0intra-partum and post-partum care for pregnant clients and their babies, including <br \/>\u00a0experience with an expanded midwifery scope of practice such as performing and <br \/>\u00a0evaluating NST\u2019s, managing clients with GDM, managing epidurals, oxytocin, augmentation and induction of labour.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated practice of providing compassionate, respectful, non-judgmental and <br \/>\u00a0culturally sensitive care in an informed choice model.<\/li>\n<li>Highly motivated to work with high needs populations and open to working in a new model <br \/>\u00a0of care as an employee of NWCHC\u2019s.<\/li>\n<li>Awareness and sensitivity to socio-economic and cultural issues.<\/li>\n<li>Awareness of and sensitivity to health issues particular within populations who face barriers to accessing care (homeless, under housed, street affected, living with mental health illness, active or past drug use, complex health histories, 2SLGBTQI+, newcomers, non-insured).<\/li>\n<li>Creative thinker with the ability to generate new ideas and challenge assumptions.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated leadership skills.<\/li>\n<li>Program development experiences an asset.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in the use of computer technology\/software (Microsoft Office, Outlook etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Clinical experience with 2SLGBTQIA+population an asset.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with contraceptive care (prescribing OCPs, inserting IUDs) an asset.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with fertility treatment (IUI or home-like insemination) with 2SLGBTQI+ clients an asset.<\/li>\n<li>Willing to obtain training and be involved in providing comprehensive birth control and \u00a0<br \/>\u00a0reproductive options upon approval for inclusion within the \u201cMidwifery Scope of Practice.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Experience using an Electronic Medical Record system (EMR) an asset.<\/li>\n<li>Successful candidate will be required to apply for, obtain, and maintain privileges at <br \/>\u00a0TBRHSC.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with utilizing BORN System is an asset.<\/li>\n<li>A current driver&rsquo;s license and access to a vehicle to travel to designated outreach clinics.<\/li>\n<li>There may be an opportunity for deliveries (there will be no on call).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please visit https:\/\/norwestchc.org\/employment\/<\/p>\n<p><strong>The deadline for applicants is Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 4:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This position will remain open until filled.<\/p>\n<p>Please submit your cover letter, resume and three work reference contacts with your online application.
