As an autonomous practitioner, you are identified as the most responsible provider for a case load of clients, and you will work collaboratively with other practitioners and healthcare providers. You function in association with interdisciplinary primary health teams and within an integrated territorial women and children\u2019s health team. You will provide continuity of care within the context of a small team of midwives and ensures coordinated delivery of care within an integrated network of community, regional, and territorial health services. Complete courses of midwifery care from conception through birth and postpartum will be provided to clients who live in Fort Smith. You will also contribute to the development of the Territorial Midwifery Program.<\/p>\n<p>Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0A Baccalaureate degree in Midwifery (Health Sciences), or assessed through a Prior Learning and Experience Assessment (PLEA) program within a Canadian province.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0A minimum of two (2) years of experience in delivering midwifery care as a primary care provider.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Labour Market Supplement<\/strong><br \/>A recruitment and retention supplement will be offered to front line Nurse, Nurse Practitioner and Midwifery positions within the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority.\u00a0\u00a0 The successful incumbent will receive a $6000 supplement upon hire and an additional $6000 supplement after completion of 12 months of continuous employment contingent on remaining employed in an eligible position for a further 12 months.\u00a0\u00a0 This is a taxable benefit and will be subject to applicable deductions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":0,"featured_media":76419,"template":"","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"neve_meta_sidebar":"","neve_meta_container":"","neve_meta_enable_content_width":"","neve_meta_content_width":0,"neve_meta_title_alignment":"","neve_meta_author_avatar":"","neve_post_elements_order":"","neve_meta_disable_header":"","neve_meta_disable_footer":"","neve_meta_disable_title":"","_themeisle_gutenberg_block_has_review":false,"_promoted":"","_job_location":"Fort Smith, NWT","_application":"https:\/\/www.gov.nt.ca\/careers\/en\/job\/24019","_company_name":"Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority","_company_website":"https:\/\/www.practicenwt.ca\/en\/hss-careers","_company_tagline":"Live.
