About Us: Vernon Midwifery is a dedicated midwifery practice based in the beautiful Vernon, BC. We are seeking a locum midwife to join our team with a flexible start date.<\/p>\n

Position Details:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Locum position for up to 2.5 years.
Flexible start dates, with a preference for fall 2024, but we are open to considering later start dates.<\/p>\n

Possibility of extension if the candidate receives general privileges.<\/p>\n

Why Join Us?<\/strong> Build your dream practice with us! As a supported solo midwife, you’ll have the freedom to choose your caseload volume. You’ll be supported by two solo midwives (from different practices) and a part-time midwife whose primary role is to support other midwives in the community. This means weekends off, holiday time, and last-minute coverage. We are committed to ensuring a smooth transition into our community.<\/p>\n

Our Care Philosophy:<\/strong> We provide boutique, relational care. About a quarter of our clients plan out-of-hospital births, within a 30-minute travel distance. We typically have an extensive waitlist.<\/p>\n

Our Location:<\/strong> Vernon Midwifery is located in downtown Vernon, just a four-minute drive from Vernon Jubilee Hospital (VJH). VJH is a Level 2B facility with spacious labor rooms equipped with tubs and showers. We enjoy close, collaborative relationships with our obstetric and pediatric colleagues.<\/p>\n

Our clinic is in the newly renovated Health Nest, which also houses a family doctor, pelvic floor physiotherapist, massage therapists, and an acupuncturist. We offer prenatal and other relevant group classes on-site. We use ACCURO for electronic charting and currently do not have an MOA.<\/p>\n
