Locum – one year!

Ottawa South Midwives is looking for a GR locum midwife to cover a one year leave. We are looking for a fall 2023 start date (but we are flexible).  

Ottawa South Midwives enjoys full scope privileges (epidural and oxytocin for augment and induction) and good collegial relationships with OB colleagues at the Ottawa Hospital – Civic Campus. We are also proud to offer out of hospital birth at home, and at the beautiful Ottawa Birth and Wellness Centre. We have a 25-30% out of hospital birth rate.

Our practice serves a multi-cultural population in the nation’s capital, including many newcomers to the area. Bilingualism is an asset but not required. We are seeking a midwife who values strong teamwork and has a good sense of humour. We are a group of midwives who have strong work ethic, solid clinical skills and excellent communication skills, and we seek the same in a candidate for this position. 2SLGBTQIA+ midwives and IBPOC midwives especially encouraged to apply.

The Ottawa area is a true four-season city, with wonderful outdoor pursuits available year-round, including hiking, fishing, camping, skiing, snowshoeing and cycling. We are a short drive from Quebec with access to the beautiful Gatineau Park. While we work in a primary care model, we prioritize a healthy work-life balance so that you can enjoy your off-call time as much as possible.
