Locum Midwife – Winter 2024-25

Roundhouse Midwives is a midwifery practice located in Victoria, BC. We are seeking a locum midwife for flexible dates between November 2024 and January 2025. 

This position is suitable for a Registered Midwife who has completed their New Registrant year. The locum will be a member of a two-to-three-person team, sharing clinic and call with another midwife. Caseload is flexible at around 3-4 clients per month per midwife. 

Roundhouse Midwives is located on a five-acre farm just two blocks from our local maternity unit at Victoria General Hospital. VGH is a level three facility, and we enjoy collaborative relationships with our obstetric colleagues. 

We currently have five Registered Midwives and a Nurse Practitioner in our group, and are supported by two excellent MOAs who provide full time support for our clinic and additional programs. We use OSCAR for office charting and Powerchart EMR in hospital. 

Our farm property has a large, beautiful roundhouse where the clinic is located, and a small cottage which clients can rent for out-of-hospital birth. One third of our clients plan out-of-hospital birth.
