SEEKING A GENERAL REGISTRANT MIDWIFE

RURAL REMOTE MIDWIFERY MAY BE FOR YOU IF YOU ENJOY:

  • serving diverse family structures: military, Mennonite, farm families, low income,
newcomers to Canada and Indigenous families, to name a few
  • opportunity to form strong client connections, working in a hybrid model
  • an easy-going clinic atmosphere with excellent admin support and Accuro EMR
& Unite Midwife On Call paging system access
  • joining a supportive, respectful and welcoming group of midwives who are
deeply committed to ensuring quality care
  • outdoor adventure! Bordered by Algonquin Park, the mighty Ottawa River and
beautiful rolling hills, our catchment area is home to many rivers, lakes, forests,
villages, farmer’s markets, and more – offering camping, paddling, hiking and
    exploring to your heart’s content!

WHEN YOU JOIN MVM, YOU CAN EXPECT:

  • a flexible caseload, focusing on a fulfilling work/ life balance
8 -10 weeks of holidays and regular off-call time, and trustworthy support so
    you can truly recharge
  • 2 unique clinic sites – in the bustling military town of Petawawa and friendly,
    quaint village of Killaloe
  • 35-45% home births, and a high water birth rate
benefiting from the experience of a well-established practice (in our 20th year!)
  • many opportunities to learn, grow and serve families in different ways
  • strong relationships with community partners
  • plentiful, open, prompt and respectful communication
  • regular practice meetings to help avoid email landslides

ADDED PERKS:

  1. MVM has integrated a regular, 12 month off call, non-intrapartum rotation into our
roster. This means midwives spend 18-24 months providing full scope midwifery care
in a team model, then rotate into a non-intrapartum position providing collaborative
prenatal and postpartum care Monday to Friday, with no on-call expectation, for a
    period of 12 months.
  2. Our practice location qualifies for Canada’s Student Loan Forgiveness Program!
