Registered Midwife – The Midwifery Group (Team 1)

The Midwifery Group is seeking a Registered Midwife for a full-time 6 month – 1 year locum position 

Ideal start date:   April 1st, 2026 (*flexible)

Our Clinic:

The Midwifery Group is a busy and supportive midwifery practice located in a beautiful store-front location on Fraser Street in Vancouver, British Columbia.  Established in 1998, we have a strong presence in our community and relish the diversity of our clientele.  We believe in supportive and sustainable arrangements of sharing call and support models of midwifery care that support our individual midwives to have rewarding careers and maintain a healthy work-life balance. We enjoy our work and we enjoy each other’s company.

Midwives on the team have hospital privileges at BC Women’s Hospital and have approximately a 5-10% home birth rate. We offer full-time administrative support and use Oscar EMR to provide safe and coordinated client care in a team-based midwifery model. Our clinic currently operates with three teams of midwives that support each other and hold regular clinic meetings and social team building events.

The Position:

We are seeking a Registered Midwife to join Team 1 for an emergency temporary 6-12 month locum position. The candidate would be joining a team of 4 enthusiastic, hard-working and supportive midwives in a full-time clinical practice. We typically take a caseload of 14-16 due dates per month, adjusted as needed collectively by the team. We prioritize a schedule that supports work-life balance and team collaboration, so we adjust our schedules to accommodate time off as per people’s needs. 

The applicant would be registered in BC and either hold hospital privileges at BC Women’s Hospital or alternatively we can arrange hospital privileges through BC Women’s Hospital Department of Midwifery.

The successful candidate will be:

Eligible for registration by the start date or already registered with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) and the Midwives Association of BC
A strong communicator with experience working in a team-based environment
Committed to providing exemplary midwifery care 
Experienced in providing care to diverse families
Highly responsible 
Experience working with electronic medical records (such as OSCAR) is an asset but not required.
