A Bit About Us…

Honeycomb Midwives is an established Calgary-based practice of experienced midwives, including Canadian and internationally educated registrants. We serve a diverse population of families in Calgary and surrounding areas.

We believe that providing high-quality, individualized midwifery care changes lives and strengthens communities. We are a team of strong, professional women making a difference—one family at a time.

We also recognize that midwifery practice can be challenging and exhausting. Our philosophy is to extend the same care model we offer our clients to ourselves. This means investing in one another, fostering mentorship, creating a safe and open work environment, and being attentive to what we need—individually and collectively—to maintain sustainability and work-life balance.

Position Details

• 18-month contract with the possibility of renewal

• Seeking a General Registrant Midwife

• Calgary AHS hospital privileges available for the successful applicant

Location & Facilities

• Clinic relocating in April 2026 to a larger space in the Reilly Park Professional Building in Kensington (trendy, lots of shops)

• Five clinic rooms in a centrally located, transit and LRT accessible location

• Minutes from Arbour Birth Centre and Foothills Medical Centre

Practice Model & Support

• Primary hospital: Rockyview General Hospital, with support from the In-House Midwifery Program (24hr midwifery triage and induction, early labour support)

• Small, established practice with an intimate team-based approach

• Strong community reputation with high rates of repeat clients and referrals

• Options for solo, supported solo, or team-based care

• Database and website access for direct client intakes

• Fair, transparent invoicing and a fair contract

• Reliable, dedicated backup coverage

• Mentorship across all experience levels—we value learning from one another

• Strong commitment to supporting midwifery students and new registrants

• In-house NRP recertification

Practice Midwifery Your Way

We recognize and respect that every midwife has unique strengths and styles. You are a contracted professional responsible for providing safe, high-quality care—and we support autonomy in how that care is delivered.

• Clinic will also have integrated allied pregnancy and postpartum care providers (e.g., massage therapy, pelvicfloor physiotherapy, acupuncture)

• Online presence: Instagram, Facebook, and a website with direct client intakes and resources

• Your input — we value your ideas and are always open to evolving our practice

• Supporting special interests, projects, alternative care models, or specific client populations you

may wish to develop

Qualifications

Applicants must: Be eligible for registration with the College of Midwives of Alberta and the Alberta Association of Midwives

Be current in NRP, CPR, and ESW (or approved equivalent)

Demonstrate excellent communication and conflict-management skills
