The NCIM Annual Gathering takes place November 10–11, 2025, on Treaty 7 territory at The Confluence Parkland and Historic Site. Guided by the theme Caring Where We Live: Rural & Remote Midwifery, the gathering offers two days of community and professional exchange.
About Our Gathering
The NCIM Annual Gathering is a two-day event designed to support the restoration and growth of Indigenous midwifery across many Nations’ territories.
Day 1: Community Day
Day 1 is for all who support the return of birth, community members, Elders, birth workers, health leaders, partners, and midwives. It is a time to share stories, celebrate culture, build relationships, and learn from one another.
Day 2: Indigenous Midwife & Student Day
Day 2 is a dedicated space for Indigenous midwives and Indigenous midwifery students. NCIM members have asked for this time to reflect, release, regroup, and share priorities that relate specifically to their roles and responsibilities as midwives. This space allows them to speak openly, honour themselves and their work, and collectively strategize for the year ahead.
Together, we honour land, medicines, and culture while advancing midwifery in rural and remote communities.
