~ Ponderosa Midwives is hiring – December 2026 ~
Ponderosa Midwives in beautiful Kelowna, BC is seeking a full-time midwife to join our group in March 2026, with flexibility to start as early as September 2026.
The position is a locum opportunity (minimum 6-months but ideal would be 1-year) with the possibility of a long-term position.
We are a cohesive team of 3 midwives who work in a team-based model. Our practice operates out of a beautiful clinic space in downtown Kelowna close to the hospital, hiking and biking trails, and downtown. We have a part-time MOA who does an excellent job of supporting us. We use OSCAR for electronic medical records and aspire to minimize our footprint. Our clinic space offers one comfortable clinic room, an office, an MOA space and an additional space for assessments and resources. We strive to offer homebirth whenever possible. Our clinic is close to Kelowna General Hospital, which is a level 2 facility. Our interprofessional relationships are strong, including very supportive nursing staff, and we pride ourselves on a cohesive midwifery community in town.
The successful applicant will ideally work in a full-time capacity, in a team structure that is up for discussion. Long-term positions offer up to 2 months of holiday during the contract. Regular off-call time is negotiated within teams, with additional time off when possible. **our practice operates within a cost-share agreement and we pride ourselves on maintaining an affordable and abundant clinic setup. This agreement is available to the successful applicant who wishes to stay on with our practice**
