A New Graphic Novel about Pregnancy and Intimate Partner Violence

This graphic novel on pregnancy and intimate partner violence is the first in a series of clinical resources created to raise awareness about family violence and share best practices on trauma-informed care. Part of the Midwives Recognize & Respond to Family Violence project, this practical resource is intended for midwives, allied health care professionals and their clients.

In Something is Off, you are introduced to Shayla and Leslie who work in a midwifery clinic in small town Ontario where they greet clients Piper and Diane. As weeks go by, the midwives discover something is off in their clients’ home lives. They suspect intimate partner violence. During clinic appointments, Shayla and Leslie help the young mothers feel seen and heard and provide them with resources to make informed choices. Read and download the graphic novel to find out more…
