Happy Anniversary CAM Members 😊 What is YOUR most significant midwifery milestone of the past 25 years?
Over the 25 years, midwives across the country have transformed care, strengthened communities, advanced reproductive justice, and shaped a more responsive, compassionate health system. This quarter century milestone is a moment to reflect on how far the profession has come, the people and movements that made progress possible, and the work that still lies ahead.
As part of this celebration, CAM is launching 25 Stories in 25 Years, a campaign that will run through the CAM Conference in November 2027. Through articles, podcasts, short- and long-form videos, photos, and other media, we will share key milestones, major challenges, important wins, and celebrate the people and unpack the issues that have shaped the last 25 years of midwifery in Canada.
At the heart of the campaign will be an interactive timeline, tracing not only the history of CAM, but also the professional, personal, and collective moments that have defined this era for midwives and the communities they serve.
And, we would very much love for this celebration to be about the membership. What has been your milestone? What moments stand out when you think about the last 25 years of midwifery in Canada? A first birth attended. A graduation. A hard-fought policy change. A conference memory.

This anniversary is not only about looking back. It is also about the present: recognizing the strength, leadership, and vision of midwives today. And it is also about the future: imagining what we can make possible in over the next 25.
