CAM Learns Live Presents: Navigating the Changing Landscape of RSV

Live webinar: Sept 17 at 12pm ET

RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) prevention is changing rapidly, with new evidence, evolving recommendations and expanding options for protecting infants. Join CAM Learns Live with Dr. Jeffrey (Des) Pernica, Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University, for a practical update on the latest Canadian evidence, NACI guidance, maternal vaccination and infant immunization options. Designed specifically for midwives, this session will explore what these developments mean for clinical practice, how to discuss RSV prevention clearly with clients, and how to support pregnant people and families in making informed decisions. Participants will leave with practical information they can apply in care across Canada today.

Dr. Jeffrey (Des) Pernica, MSc MD FRCPC DTMH, is Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University. His clinical interests include immunization (he is the co-Chair of the Ontario Immunization Advisory Committee) and tropical medicine (he is a member of the Canadian Committee to Advise on Tropical Medicine and Travel).  His research interests relate to the optimization of the diagnosis and management of respiratory infections, enteric infections, and sepsis, both in Canada and in resource-limited settings.

This CAM Learns Live webinar is supported by Merck. Merck proudly supports the dedication and expertise of midwives across Canada and has had no involvement in the development, review or modification of the webinar content.
