Responsibilities include:
- Providing education, health assessments, and continuity-based care
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
- Prescribing and/or administering medications
- Performing minor surgical and invasive procedures within scope
- Delivering comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care for individuals and newborns up to at least eight weeks postpartum
- Providing preconception care and aspects of reproductive care
- Promoting physiologic birth and supporting informed choice, including leading births in hospital and community settings
- Admitting and discharging clients in hospital settings
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care
- Contributing to organizational goals outlined in Health PEI’s Business and Strategic Plans
