Preventing RSV in Infants and Current Immunization Options

October 7, 2024 from 12:00 PM – 01:00 PM

The Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is the leading cause of lower respiratory tract infections in infants with significant morbidity and a risk of hospitalization. Following the issue of NACI’s recommendations in May 2024, various jurisdictions have chosen different immunization strategies. In addition, many midwives are playing an increasing role in vaccination campaigns. This webinar will provide an overview of how RSV impacts Canadian infants and will provide an understanding of RSV prevention options including vaccines in pregnancy and monoclonal antibodies. The aim of the webinar is to enhance midwives’ knowledge and confidence to provide counselling and immunization to clients.
